Leagl.io is working with a leading FinTech company who is seeking a Commercial Payments Counsel for a full time (40 hours/week) 6 month engagement. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Review and draft commercial agreements related to payments products across all business lines
• Negotiate internally and externally to get the best terms for the organization
• Calibrate risk across multiple cross functional partners
• Ensure executed agreements are uploaded into our database
• Provide legal counsel and support on a wide range of commercial transactions, with a focus on payments and banking services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements.
• Advise on regulatory compliance related to payments and banking, including AML, KYC, and other financial regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and compliance, to support the development and launch of new products and services.
• Manage external legal counsel as needed.

Qualifications:

• Ideally experience from prior fintech
• Prior experience with complex procurement agreements or payments related agreements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with significant experience in payments and banking law.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized
• Able to communicate when under bandwidth constraints

Role: Commercial Payments Counsel Hours: 40 Hours / Week Hourly Pay Rate : $105 - $115 / hour ($210,000 - $230,000 annualized) Duration: 6 months Location: Remote
