Dechert LLP is searching for a Practice Group Coordinator for its Finance and Real Estate (FRE) practice group, which is recognized as a market leader in commercial real estate finance and structured finance. The Practice Group Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director, Practice Group FRE, to support the strategic initiatives, operations and professional development of the practice group, which is comprised of more than 150 attorneys and business service professionals located in 13 offices across the US and Europe.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist the Associate Director, Practice Group FRE, with implementing strategic initiatives and managing daily operations.
  • Assist the Associate Director, Practice Group FRE, with staffing and workload management for associates, counsel, and paralegals, including maintaining deal team assignment tracking documents and generating reports.
  • Develop relationships with partners, counsel, associates, and paralegals to foster trust and confidence in the coordinator role.
  • Understand the needs of lawyers in the group and ensure they have the necessary resources by communicating with office managers, IT, and other departments.
  • Coordinate logistics for practice group meetings and training programs, including scheduling, reserving conference rooms, arranging catering, and communicating with AV services.
  • Coordinate logistics for the associate, counsel, and paralegal evaluation processes, including preparing materials for the Evaluation Committee, scheduling meetings and maintaining tracking charts.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events, including orientations, retreats, attorney appreciation happy hours, and retirement dinners.
  • Prepare, analyze, and monitor reports on a quarterly, monthly, weekly, and ad hoc basis.
  • Assist with administrative details related to personnel, including attendance, new hire and departure processes, secondments, bar study, and leaves of absence.
  • Prepare materials required to obtain Continuing Legal Education credit for training programs and liaise with the Talent Department as needed.
  • Liaise with the marketing team on matters relating to marketing and client development for the practice group as needed.
  • Provide seamless and high-quality service to both practice group personnel and business services professionals in other departments.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and as assigned by your supervisor for efficient functioning of the practice group, office and firm.

Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Two plus years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services firm environment preferred.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and demonstrates good judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and drive a project from start to finish with timely completion of milestones.
