Your Responsibilities

Position responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling executive line claims in fast-paced environment, including:
  • Ability to digest and understand the overall business, operations and commercial insurance needs of clients
  • Review and analyze executive line claims for coverage and report claims to insurers
  • Advocate for insurance coverage, including writing responses to coverage positions
  • Assist clients with navigating the claims process and obtaining carrier consents for expenses, payments and settlements
  • Consult with clients and advise internal constituents on coverage issues concerning executive line claims
  • Consult with clients about the claim process and potential insurance solutions
  • Prepare internal claims reports for Lockton’s senior claims attorneys and consultants
  • Research current trends in law that pertain to executive line space and our clients
  • Draft whitepapers and other educational presentations concerning executive line space
  • Accumulate required continuing educational credits to maintain current law license
  • Prepare written correspondence, analyses, reports, and memos as needed
  • Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to the customer
  • Communicates in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment
  • Protect the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position; reinforce the importance of confidentiality of information to all department associates
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the LFS claims practice leader.

Qualifications

Position qualifications

  • Law Degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a business, insurance, writing or English program a plus.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state and eligible for house counsel admission in state of employment.
  • Understanding of the overall business, operations, and commercial insurance needs of clients
  • Executive level presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
  • Strong presentation skills including preparation and execution
  • Consistent proven ability to organize and manage time in order to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with clients and associates at all levels of responsibility, building strong internal and external client relationships
  • Willing to develop problem-solving skills, including resolving unusual and complex internal and external issues
  • Willing to develop skills with the ability to understand, communicate with, find solutions for, deserve respect from, and motivate others
  • Must have the ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
  • Legally able to work in the United States

This position may be eligible for annual discretionary bonus consideration.
