Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for a Paralegal versed within General Liability.

Responsibilities

• Manage coverage team and claims against company metrics, including maintenance of data integrity in computer platforms.
• Assist coverage team with investigations, docket searches, case management, and other tasks.
• Respond to inquiries and communicate with upper-level claims management across claims groups and litigation department leadership
• Review claim files to gather essential information/data for reporting purposes
• Communicate with and provide appropriate file materials to external coverage counsel in connection with new referrals.
• Ensure timely administrative closure of files by coverage counsel.
• Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions and legal articles as necessary to assist the Coverage Team.
• Maintain and update library of coverage resources.
• Communicate with internal clients, and team members in connection with the needs of Team.
• Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting.
• Handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
• Manage and prioritize completing deadlines.
• Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal
• Formal paralegal certificate
• 1+ year demonstrated experience in insurance industry
• General understanding of various legal pleadings and communications
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and multi-task required
