The Opportunity

Responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational and administrative support for litigation case management, including subrogation, as well as support regulatory team utilizing research skills to examinate insurance regulatory landscape in support of state and federal compliance.
  • Duties include assistance with delivery of case files and other legal documents to business partners, outside counsel and other relevant parties; Interact with outside entities (e.g. courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors, and outside counsel law firms) to gather information or coordinate activities as needed in support of litigation activities.
  • Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys; conduct legal research under attorney supervision. Support counsel in preparation and gathering of information in response to subpoenas, document requests, and litigation discovery.
  • Efficiently and accurately maintain subrogation files and file diaries; develop, maintain, and distribute accurate and complete subrogation reports on a monthly and/or as directed basis; provides management with regular updates and status reports on subrogation files.
  • Researches and tracks regulatory and legislative matters, drafts documents and advises regulatory team personnel regarding various insurance regulatory issues such as licensing requirements, compliance for all states affecting insurance business operations, adjusters, producers and certificates of authority, regulations pertaining to excess and surplus lines and/or unauthorized insurance requirements, and other matters related to insurance business.
  • Provide support for producer contracting process including drafting routine contract amendments.

Qualifications:

  • Mid-level with 8 or more years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
