What you’ll do

The successful candidate flourishes in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment and is excited to solve complex problems. If you’re interested in joining a team of experts building Stripe’s Global Privacy Program while also helping users feel secure and supported while they navigate their privacy questions – let us know!

Responsibilities

  • Manage privacy-driven programs end to end to ensure regulatory readiness and compliance.
  • Continuously improve user-facing workflows to ensure operational streamlining for existing and new privacy laws and regulations.
  • Leverage your deep privacy expertise to collaborate with internal partners and users in complex user conversations.
  • Create and maintain internal and external documentation to provide scalable privacy support and resources.
  • Work closely with other members of Stripe’s Legal team to fulfill user requests and to build and deepen your expertise on global privacy and data protection requirements.
  • Be a strong advocate for a privacy mindset while working with product, engineering, and other internal partners.
  • Work cross-functionally across the Product and Tech orgs to advocate for, advise, and help implement a privacy-by-design approach to the Product development life cycle.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Has 5+ years of demonstrated project-management skills and a proven track record for operationalizing and scaling cross-functional organization-wide programs from the ground up.
  • Has excellent collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills, and the ability to convey complex ideas succinctly to all audiences.
  • Has an analytical approach to decision-making, and is meticulous, objective, and skilled at using metrics to drive decisions.
  • Has demonstrated experience and interest in privacy. Experience with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD and other privacy regulations is a plus.
  • Has strong research skills; able to analyze complex problems in order to identify root cause and trends; able to document complex narratives in a simplified way which are easy for others to use.
  • Is confident making decisive judgment calls in the absence of complete information.
  • Is comfortable working independently and collaborating with a distributed team.
  • Is excited to build resources to help other Stripes understand these complex topics.
  • Has experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and can manage several tasks in tight timelines with shifting priorities.

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $122,200 - $183,300. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
