Summary of Role:  GlobalFoundries is looking to add to their Government Affairs team in the US.  This position, reporting to the Vice President of Government Affairs, will be based in Washington, DC and interface with GF’s corporate leadership to help develop public policy advocacy strategies in support of GF’s objectives.  The candidate will help develop policy positions and coordinate strategies for engaging policymakers across regions. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Monitors and analyzes policy developments, in order to help craft and guide strategies to advocate for policy positions that support the company’s goals.   
  • Typically performs one or more of the following, as either an individual contributor, or as a manager: 
    • Ensure organizational awareness of government legislation and/or regulatory issues that affect the organization and respond to same.
    • Represent the organization in policy discussions and in the development of market rules and procedures. 
    • Support engagement with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential policies that may affect the organization. 
    • Support the organization’s engagement in regulatory processes.
    • Participate in discussions on public policy topics within industry associations and issue coalitions to shape industry messages consistent with company interests.
    • Educate government stakeholders on the semiconductor industry and the company.  

 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs, all within legal and ethical bounds.

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and or university. 
  • 6+ Years of relevant experience working with the Federal government in a government affairs role or working for the executive or legislative branch.
  • Demonstrated public-policy development and advocacy-strategy execution.
  • Ability to work cross functionally across key stakeholders.  
  • Proven Project and Program Management execution and success.
  • High degree of executive presentation presence.
  • Potential travel – up to 10% - including potential internationally, as needed. 
  • Language Fluency:  English (Written & Verbal).

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • JD or Masters in public policy or related field.
  • Experience with U.S. and global government policymaking processes.
  • Capability to digest and explain complex science and technology issues.
  • Experience working with or in a multinational corporation.
  • Good communicator able to interact effectively with all levels of government, management, or global teams. 
  • Strong organizational and team-building skills.
  • Ability to write in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.

 

Expected Salary Range

$135,200.00 - $258,900.00

 

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
