This is a great opportunity to grow your career in house, working alongside a team of experienced attorneys and compliance professionals.

Here’s What You’ll Do Day-to-day

  • Counsel the product, engineering, and design teams on a range of issues including employment compliance, wage & hour, employee benefits, marketing, and data privacy.
  • Research and advise on complex regulatory frameworks to design or enhance innovative and regulated B2B and B2C products and services that support the HR compliance needs of small businesses.
  • Contribute to our product suite from brainstorm and ideation through launch as a subject matter expert in employment and HR compliance.
  • Support key initiatives across the legal and compliance teams, with company-wide impact.
  • Contribute to key initiatives helping to mature our Legal & Compliance team’s functions.

Here’s What We're Looking For

  • JD degree and a member of a State bar/active license to practice law.
  • 3+ years of experience in a law firm, government, and/or in-house legal department at a technology company (in-house experience preferred but not required); experience must include employment law.
  • Experience advising start-ups or providing pragmatic legal guidance related to tech or regulated products.

Here’s what we’d love to see you bring to the table:

  • A collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to work well independently under pressure, while contributing to cross-functional teams.
  • A builder mindset.
  • A willingness to dive in and drive projects independently.
  • Experience creatively solving problems, taking into account legal risk and business needs.
  • A team player mindset (no job is too big or too small).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data privacy, tax, consumer protection, and/or start-up law.
  • SHRM certification or similar professional certification in the HR or employment law space.
