As a Director of Privacy working at Shipt, you will be pivotal in ensuring our organization
complies with privacy laws while strategically integrating privacy considerations into our business operations and technological innovations. The Director of Privacy will manage a team of Privacy Professionals, provide expert guidance on privacy issues related to technology and AI, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and optimize compliance strategies. This role requires a proactive approach to balancing legal requirements with business objectives, offering strategic advice to leadership and product teams on privacy implications and risk minimization.

 

 

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

  • 5+ years of experience practicing privacy law, with a strong focus on U.S. regulatory landscape.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures.

  • In-depth knowledge of technology, privacy, and AI, with experience advising on related legal and compliance matters.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Leadership capabilities, including experience managing and developing legal professionals.

  • Collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders across an organization.

  • Proactive and adaptable, with a commitment to continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry developments

 

 

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave.  Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

 

Pay range:

 

 

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City: 

$161,360-$322,720

 

 

All other locations:

$134,430-$268,861

 

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
