Legal.io is working with a leading document management software company looking to engage an experienced Product Counsel on a part-time (20 hours per week), contract basis for an initial 6-month term.

Scope of Work Title: Product Counsel (Secondment) Experience: 7+ Years Location: Remote (United States) Hours: 20 Hours / Week Duration: 6 Months (From 10/7/2024 until 4/7/2025) Pay Rate: $125 - $165 / hr

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support on product development initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product and engineering to provide guidance on legal issues related to product features, functionalities, and integrations.
• Sit in on product meetings and help take on the work that flows through those meetings.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including licensing, partnership, and technology agreements.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and provide strategic solutions to mitigate potential risks associated with product offerings.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the company's products and services.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Significant experience in product counseling and technology transactions.
• Experience in an enterprise environment would be helpful
• Strong knowledge of privacy, data protection, intellectual property, and consumer protection laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
