Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

 

  • Two years of experience performing specialized clerical such as: drafting memos and correspondence, gathering data for reports, and providing customer service duties
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum experience on a year-for-year basis

  • Clerical/customer service experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment

Job Contributions

 

  • Locate, order, pull, create, and organize case files
  • Enter and retrieve case information from various databases, including Motor Vehicle Department, Justice Court database, and Superior Court database, among others
  • Perform statistical data collection and tracking
  • Prepare various correspondences and type a high volume of subpoenas
  • Research persons' information in state and national criminal history databases
  • Maintain a current TOC with the Department of Public Safety
  • Enter data for basket submittals and in jail submittals using information provided from various police agency reports
  • Assist in entering case disposition entries in MCAO internal database

Working Conditions

 

  • Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced legal office environment
  • Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
  • May require travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business
  • Ability to lift boxes and/or pull mailcart weighing 25 – 40 pounds
  • Hybrid and alternative work schedules are available upon successful completion of the 6–12-month probationary period
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire
  • The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
