The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Contract Management Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to join the team in Huntsville, Alabama; Houston, Texas; or Hazelwood, Missouri .

This position provides support for Space Launch Systems (SLS) programs of Boeing’s Space and Launch division. The primary customer is National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center. This position is a key member of the SLS Team responsible for supporting various contracting actions to include developing and negotiating timely and quality complex proposals leading to the contract administration/execution of these transactions. Primary interfaces will include working with NASA, industry prime customers, subcontractors, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). This position requires a keen sense of urgency while maintaining a mindset that promotes leadership, safety, first time quality, working to emphasize speed and agility, honesty, and candor.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interface with leaders at all levels of the enterprise and with external customers on a regular basis providing contract interpretations/determinations
  • Make firm commitments on behalf of the enterprise within established delegation of authority with customers for various transactions
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customer counterparts and internal stakeholders
  • Develop solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
  • Develop solutions to unique challenges that may serve as precedent for future decisions
  • Operate and practice with a professional level of discretion and autonomy
  • Lead the development of contractual and pricing strategy, funding and expenditure profiles, provide proper disclosures within established company and customer policies, process, procedures and regulations
  • Provide contracts guidance/determinations and technical and operational leadership for the program/business management teams
  • Draft, review and negotiate Proprietary Information Agreements (PIAs) or other Non-Sales Agreements (NSAs) necessary to meet organizational objectives and protect the intellectual and proprietary property of Boeing and its customers
  • Ensure compliance with legal and company requirements
  • Coordinate flow-down and flow-up of prime terms and conditions with supplier management
  • Prepare company funds requests and obtain required management approval
  • Facilitate prompt payment and support achievement of company financial goals and objectives
  • Act as focal for audits as required
  • Serve as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the company on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives
  • Serve as a mentor and team lead to less experienced peers

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience developing, negotiating and executing complex United States Government (USG) contracts and subcontracts under USG primes
  • 1+ years of experience preparing all elements of a Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) compliant proposal

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform with a significant amount of autonomy and exercise good judgment in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
  • Ability to advise all levels of management on contractual rights and obligations, risk avoidance and mitigation, strategy, and problem solving

Typical Education & Experience:

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

Summary pay range (Level 3): $78,200 - $105,800

Summary pay range (Level 4): $100,300 - $135,700

Summary pay range (Level 5): $121,550 - $164,450
