Our Team’s Vision

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel, to scale the company’s global Go-to-Market, and to support the company’s high growth across a range of commercial and corporate areas. As a foundational member of the legal team, you will report to the General Counsel and interface with senior executives of the company. This essential role will directly contribute to the company’s growth trajectory and competitive advantage, with top level visibility and impact.

Your Impact:

  • Partner closely with Sales and other revenue generating teams, negotiating enterprise SaaS and software agreements and optimizing the organization, documents, processes, and systems for growth
  • Review and negotiate complex technology transactions with a balanced approach to growth and risk tolerance, in collaboration with the business team and executive staff
  • Key member of Legal’s commercial team in establishing and executing cross-functional processes to support our Go-to-Market functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Channels, Customer Success)
  • Collaborate with Revenue Operations leadership in scaling our customer acquisition and retention through the management of cohesive systems, holistic reporting and analytics, and strategic support and incentives
  • Engage with Sales field operations to streamline negotiation processes, minimize customer acquisition costs, maximize customer lifetime value, and enhance customer success from the start
  • Enable growth opportunities in new markets, geographies, and channels

Your Toolkit:

  • 12+ years of combined law firm and in-house experience, graduate from top-tier law school, member of the California bar
  • In-house experience ideally in a high growth, late-stage private to early-stage public technology company
  • Deep commercial contracting expertise in support of Sales, specifically focused on enterprise SaaS/software licensing in the cybersecurity space
  • Authoritative knowledge in data privacy and security, and proficiency incorporating this knowledge into commercial contracting
  • Hands-on approach to reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and closing deals efficiently with an eye to both the forest and the trees
  • Eagerness to roll up your sleeves and work on matters across a range of legal areas that arise in the day-to-day operations of a growing technology company
  • Flexibility in operating across multiple geographies in addition to the U.S., particularly EMEA, and LatAm
  • Adaptability in addressing the requirements of customers in highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, public sector, etc.
  • Impeccable legal and business judgment in assessing materiality and relevance, and differentiating actual from contractual risk
  • Proven ability to close deals while preserving the company’s long-term competitive advantage and protecting against mission critical risk
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for translating abstract legal jargon into actionable business language
  • Ability to prioritize among competing demands, to work independently, and to thrive in conditions of accelerating change
  • Sense of humor, drive to make a positive impact, and desire to play an essential role in building a world class team

Compensation:

$221,000.00 - $265,000.00

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
