Purpose:
- Responsible for collecting overdue payments and establishing re-payment arrangements.
- Actively manage a high dollar portfolio of accounts referred to outside counsel/agencies, using analytics to determine collectability and case strategy linked to maximum recovery/controlled costs toward established metrics.
- Initiates monthly reports and coordinates meetings related to high visibility issues (such as 1st strike/counterclaims, and Irregular Business Practices) impacting Xerox, and which is used to evaluate processes, and to help develop deficiency solutions going forward.
- Represents Xerox in key litigation cases, and attends mandatory hearings, mediations, conferences and trials.
Financial Responsibility:
- Position impacts all organizations of Xerox. Legal Cases require critical decisions on the type, format, and substance of all documents provided during the discovery phase of litigation; researching/producing the correct SME (subject matter experts) representing implied organizations is also critical.
- This position is a lead position, impacting Xerox’s legal position in filing accurate lawsuits, and protecting it reputation.
Responsibility:
- Manages high dollar/number portfolio of internal and external counsel cases with objectives of maximizing recovery, minimizing expense.
- Initiates case budgets/case strategy/case status, and coordinates with external law firms.
- Uses analytics to document/submit case evaluations/recommendations for settlement approval, including escalation justification as necessary. Attends court Hearings, Mediations, Settlement Conferences, and Trials
- · Manages litigation case strategy on 1st Strike/Counterclaim/AR/IBP or CRG (customer relations) cases, which generate high expense. Monitors for settlement opportunities, or recommends exit strategy if case deficiencies suggest this alternative.
- Conducts litigation strategy sessions with local counsel, analyzes case status, supporting financials, case defects/strengths, making recommendations linked to settlement. Reviews specialists cases, and trains on alternative litigation procedures.
- Conducts specific problem case reviews with specialists, coaching/training for best strategy to resolution. Provides leadership to specialists for approved procedural, process, or policy changes
- Initiates/participates in management meetings geared to changes in process, procedure, or policy, when expertise and coaching is required, to train specialists for immediate and effective implementation.
Experience/Education requirement:
- 4 year college degree (or equivalent work experience), ability to travel as needed for mediations, settlement conferences and trials.
