Position Overview
As a Senior Associate on the Environmental Compliance & Strategy (ECS) team, you will be responsible for managing and advising on federal and state environmental permitting and compliance strategies to support the development, construction, and operation of Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express Transmission Project in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.
To fulfill these duties, you will collaborate with internal project teams such as transmission development, engineering, government affairs, and construction management; external teams such as environmental and engineering consultants, external legal counsel; and external stakeholders such as private landowners, state/federal resource agencies, and conservation organizations. In this role you will apply and grow your technical experience in leading environmental planning and compliance; natural and cultural resources; and executing a permitting strategy.
The ideal candidate will have applied project management experience, demonstrated strategic project development abilities, and expertise with federal environmental laws including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
A successful candidate will be an organized and collaborative self-starter with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and demonstrated capabilities with the above. Demonstrated experience with risk identification and resolution are also critical attributes for a successful candidate.
