Job Description

The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is seeking a Paralegal to join the House Counsel team in Chicago, IL. The Paralegal position will provide litigation support in matters before Illinois State and Federal courts and administrative agencies.

The paralegal will be responsible for performing critical functions such as:

  • Supporting attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including discovery responses and discovery demands
  • Prioritize and manage assignments in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Communicating and interacting professionally with clients, Claim examiners, adversaries, and judicial personnel;
  • Effectively coordinating services with economic, medical and other technical experts,
  • Keep abreast of all applicable court rules and House Counsel procedures. Develop proficiency in legal/business writing.
  • Effective utilization of House Counsel applications, including Prolaw, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, and Excel.

Qualifications

Demonstrate cutting edge knowledge and facility with contemporary technology, systems and software utilized to practice law in a digital environment;

Excellent time management and organizational skills;

Experience and ability to thrive and provide quality paralegal support in a time sensitive, high volume, team environment;

Excellent written and oral communication, analytical ability and interpersonal skills

The candidate should possess high initiative, be detail-oriented and have the ability to work independently.

The ability to perform legal research is preferred.

3-5+ years experience of relevant litigation paralegal experience;

Bachelor's degree, Certificate of completion from a recognized paralegal training program
