This position will support our rapidly growing sales team globally, and as such requires flexibility to support time zones across the globe.

This lawyer’s responsibilities will include partnering effectively with sales, deal management, sales operations, finance, and our technical teams. The successful candidate will also handle general contract matters as vital, and will work closely with other lawyers in the Cohesity legal team, including the Chief Legal Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement legal efficiencies to support sales, channel and business development teams and improve our contract processes and operations
  • Improve and build contract templates and negotiation playbooks and provide internal training to sales, sales operations and legal operations
  • Work closely with sales leadership, deal management and company leaders on strategic initiatives in support of all business verticals and customer-facing transactions
  • Provide proactive strategic advice regarding business and legal issues and risks

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of law firm and/or in-house legal work experience preferably focused on technology transactions
  • Law degree from a recognized university and license to practice in the United States. Exceptional candidates without a license to practice in the United States will also be considered
  • Specific experience in SaaS, cloud computing, and enterprise software
  • Adept at interacting optimally in a highly customer satisfaction focused environment
  • Adept at partnering with sales colleagues in fast paced customer facing transactions, proven competencies as a critical thinker and proactive problem solver, with a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to get into the details and drive creative solutions
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Proven exceptional judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives

Crucial to Success:

  • Willingness to be flexible to support time zones across the world
  • Ability to thrive in situations that are rarely clear-cut or by-the-book.  This team is flexible and inventive; being willing to go beyond your comfort zone is crucial to success.
  • A strong team player who can work well with business colleagues in high pressure situations
  • Committed to his or her personal growth and development by actively seeking feedback and responding with action.
