Job Summary

We are looking for an intelligent, collaborative, and experienced attorney to join the Government Investigations (GI) team. This role will report to the SVP & SDGC, Government Investigations. The GI team leads the investigation of and responses to government inquiries and at the federal, state, or local level. As new inquiries are received, the team works to assess the facts of a matter, analyze the legal issues, and counsel on the mitigation of risk to Comcast. The inquiries include matters in which Comcast is the subject being investigated and matters in which Comcast is not the focus of the investigation but may be a related or interested party.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Lead company’s response to federal, state, and local government inquiries and investigation of the cable business.
  • Identify any remedial measures and collaborate with stakeholders to implement the same.
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of strategies to mitigate risk going forward.
  • Monitor, summarize, and provide counsel on developments in the law, including regulatory, that may impact the business.
  • Collaborate with internal federal and state government affairs teams to identify legislative initiatives and areas of investigative interests. Assess potential impact on the business.
  • Consult with and supervise outside counsel to develop legal strategies and resolve issues in routine matters.
  • Operate with a minimal level of supervision, with a potential for management experience.
  • Perform duties consistent with strategic plans and directives as determined by more senior level management and attorneys.
  • Consistent exercise of sound judgment and discretion in all matters.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Professional Experience & Requirements

 

  • At least 6-10 years combined legal experience at a top law firm, in-house legal department, and/or state or federal government department.
  • Federal and/or state prosecutorial experience preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Member in good standing of PA state bar, or with ability to obtain full or limited in-house license in PA.
  • Ideally, this candidate will have general knowledge of and familiarity with the framework for corporate cooperation; U.S. and EU privacy laws; data breach and data security laws; and antitrust laws.
  • Experience with conducting or responding to an investigation.
