Department Profile
Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.
Responsibilities
Litigation support to a growing team of attorneys handling arbitrations, civil litigation, regulatory enforcement investigations and customer complaints
Collection of documents from internal systems, departments and clients for review, analysis and production
Preparation of financial summaries and documents to support collection efforts
Analysis of records to prepare demonstratives for use in arbitration hearings, mediations or regulatory matters
Compilation, maintenance and coordination of case files and records
Skills Required
Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks of varying degrees of urgency
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and meet deadlines
Flexibility and ability to pivot quickly from one matter to another is key
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Skills Desired
Prior litigation paralegal experience
Prior experience in the securities industry or with another financial institution or regulated entity
Operations/Risk experience
Experience working at or with law firms
