About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
We’re looking for an experienced risk and compliance specialist to join the Monitoring & Assurance Team, part of the second line of defense for our regulated businesses in the US, playing a critical role in assuring the risk and compliance health of Stripe within the broader financial ecosystem. In this role as part of our global team, you will support Stripe’s regulated entities across the globe, and other aspects of Stripe’s business as required.
What you’ll do
The role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain experience while developing and enhancing their skill set in risk and compliance management disciplines. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to gain wide ranging exposure to Stripe's diverse range of business lines, senior management and the governance and workings of the organization.
You will play a key role in ensuring that there is demonstrable, adequate, appropriate, proportionate and effective risk monitoring in place to monitor the management of key risks while also providing assurance to Stripe businesses, Stripe Senior Management and key stakeholders on the adequacy, effectiveness and robustness of Stripe’s risk management frameworks, policies, procedures, processes and controls.
To do this you will work across the business, completing control tests, executing other regulatory, compliance and policy reviews and general assurance activity and reporting on the outcome of that work.
We work as one team across our business, so you will have the opportunity to liaise with colleagues in central Group functions, first line teams, Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit teams.
You will play a key role in working with colleagues across all three lines of defense, to help ensure that all assurance and monitoring activities result in effective combined assurance, eliminating duplication of assurance activities and resulting in meaningful oversight. Oversight of issues arising from assurance and monitoring activities will be a key part of the role.
In this role you will help to ensure that Stripe continues to promote a culture of compliance and sound risk management by assisting with the development and delivery of the Monitoring & Assurance plan on an annual basis and the development of assurance frameworks and methodologies. You will support our programs for enterprise risk and compliance, ensuring that Stripe’s products, business and operations meet the applicable partner, legal and regulatory requirements, and Stripe’s obligations to its users and regulators.
