About the Team: VIZIO is looking for an Associate Counsel to support our Legal Compliance and Policy Team. The Associate Counsel position is a full-time onsite role based in beautiful Irvine, California. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team within a fast-paced environment. To be considered for this role the successful candidate must have some working experience with U.S. immigration law including corporate visa sponsorship programs, along with an ability to learn and provide support for other compliance programs in either related or unrelated subject areas.

VIZIO is a highly collaborative work environment. Accordingly, this individual will need to partner effectively with VIZIO’s internal business teams, key stakeholders, outside counsel, and outside consultants to support VIZIO’s various compliance programs. This is a full-time in-office position

What You Will D
o:• Partner with human resources to ensure proper I-9 and E-verify compliance including onboarding of new hires and reverification of foreign national employee s.• Immigration program coordination supporting outside immigration counsel, talent acquisition, human resources business partners, payroll, and foreign national employee s.• Support operation of the company’s export controls and trade sanctions compliance program, including performing export controls screenings in compliance with internal policy and applicable federal and international law s.• At the direction of senior attorneys, conduct legal research on assigned topics and provide legal analysis for review. Partner with outside counsel if specific subject matter expertise is require d.• At the direction of senior attorneys, conduct compliance reviews and internal audits of assigned compliance programs. Develop and assist other internal teams in the implementation of any corrective actions needed for the reviewed compliance program s.• Ensure data and records retention policies are maintained for assigned compliance program s.• Other duties as assigne

About Y
ou:• J.D. required and admission to the California bar or eligible for Registered In-House Couns el.• 2-3 years work experience as an attorney, preferably within a law firm setting or in-house legal departme nt.• Working knowledge of US immigration laws pertaining to hiring of foreign national employe es.• Experience conducting legal research and legal analysis for corporate clients in areas such as immigration law, import/export law, federal or state level regulatory compliance requiremen ts.• Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume desk with varying responsibilities and obligatio ns.• Ability to take direction from multiple attorneys and work independently based on the direction provid ed.• Ability to lead internal team meetings and guide the team towards positive dialogue and open discussions on sometimes difficult or complex areas of l aw.• Sound judgment to recognize problems that should be escalated to manag er.• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skil ls.• A sense of humor and an ability to stay ground ed.• Experience using SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint requir ed.• A passion for consumer technolo

oyment: The minimum salary for this position is $102,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $132,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other be
