Job Summary

Dominion Energy seeks an experienced attorney with a broad based corporate transactional law background and the skills and demeanor necessary to quickly learn and support a wide variety of Dominion Energy’s legal needs, including strong corporate, project development, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures and general commercial transactions experience. This position will have a significant role in both the upfront development and ongoing contractual needs of both regulated and unregulated projects undertaken by Dominion Energy and its subsidiaries, including a broad range of renewable/ clean energy projects (solar, wind, energy storage, nuclear). In addition, the position seeks experience in other corporate and transactional areas of the law, such as construction and joint venture transactions and structures.

Specific Areas Of Responsibility

 

  • Draft, review and negotiate agreements and provide other necessary transactional legal support and advice for the ongoing expansion of Dominion Energy’s renewable energy portfolio (wind, solar and energy storage) and for other projects
  • Advise internal clients on legal matters and strategies relating to commercial relationships and to commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, construction, supply chain agreements, licensing, operation, and maintenance agreements, as well as land use and real estate matters
  • Interact with regulatory counsel and provide transactional advice arising out of regulatory requirements
  • Counsel internal clients on corporate governance issues and routine legal matters
  • Work performed requires independent judgment and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Counsel - 3+ years (or the equivalent) legal experience related to above responsibilities

Senior Counsel - 7+ years (or the equivalent) legal experience related to above responsibilities

Specific legal experience with corporate transactions, project development and M&A preferred.

Education Requirements

Law Degree (J.D.) from an American Bar Association accredited law school is required.

Active member in good standing with a mandatory state bar organization

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

State law license required.
