Job Description
SUMMARY
The Government Relations and Compliance Manager leads compliance initiatives involving all aspects of the company and supports the North American Compliance Counsel and Vice President, Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer. The incumbent provides support to the Compliance Department and guidance and expertise to operations related to compliance with state, federal and global policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Government Relations. Performs the full range of professional and administrative duties required to support legislative and policy research and analysis activities; attends state and federal legislative meetings to monitor activities on proposed policies affecting Covetrus’ business; compiles and analyzes information regarding proposed legislation and regulations; develops legislative analyses, position reports, regular updates, and special reports.
- Ethics Point. Effectively manage reported cases during the initial intake process; evaluate the available information and evidence to determine the most appropriate resolution for each reported issue.
- Adverse Events Monitoring and Remediation. Monitors and triage reports of adverse drug events; ensures accurate records and follow up in consultation with Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer.
- Marketing Review. Lead and oversee advertising and promotion legal review process for NA marketing teams and advise stakeholders on relevant regulatory and compliance issues.
- Privacy Compliance Support. In conjunction with IT (Information Technology), respond to customer data requests.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- 6+ years’ experience in an ethics, law or compliance related role in the healthcare or pharmaceutical space. Compliance and ethics hotline operations experience preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability and willingness to learn new programs & tools
Certificates, License & Registrations
- Bachelor’s degree; master's degree or JD preferred
