As a Senior Paralegal in the Global IP & Marketing team, you will have responsibilities in the areas of trademarks and IP portfolio governance. As a custodian of the Company’s global IP portfolio, you will have governance and compliance responsibilities. You will help manage the company’s IP portfolio and be responsible for the accuracy of the IP records; and help monitor compliance with our IP standard operating procedures.
As a trademark paralegal, you will complete tasks in connection with the entire lifecycle of a trademark, including the searching, prosecution, conflict, enforcement and renewal activities for the US, Canada, and global projects.
What You’ll Do for Us:
- Coordinate and manage trademark filings.
- Prepare trademark and copyright applications (if applicable) and monitor their status.
- Perform searches regarding trademark availability and related issues.
- Prepare drafts of correspondence and documents responding to trademark agencies and offices relating to trademark application and registration filings in compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.
- Monitor all timelines in connection with the prosecution of marks, office actions, oppositions, and appeals.
- Manage renewals.
- Monitor trade dress and trademark infringement matters including drafting cease and desist letters and preparing complaints as necessary.
- Monitor domain name registrations for clients, preparing cease and desist letters regarding cybersquatting and following up with the filing of ICANN proceedings as necessary.
- Perform legal research via Saegis, and other on-line services.
- Attend meetings and undertaking conference calls with clients and other contacts globally.
- Respond to general enquiries on trademark prosecution.
- Develop working relationships with the relevant brand managers and other internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IP assets, licenses, agreements, and related documentation.
- Oversee the organization, maintenance and tracking of the company’s IP portfolio.
- Audit IP portfolio for accuracy and integrity.
- Audit IP standard operating procedures for compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or an associate degree with a Paralegal Studies Certificate from an ABA approved program
- 5+ years of experience in trademark law working on and managing a global trademark portfolio.
- Clear and concise communication – written and verbal
- Technologically savvy and numbers literate
- Organized, with a keen eye for detail.

Pay Range:
$96,000 – $110,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
