Introduction
The DHSS Quality Control section, located within the Office of the Secretary, is tasked with auditing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cases, more commonly referred to as food benefits, and submitting those reviews to our federal partner, the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). SNAP has one of the most rigorous quality control systems in the federal government. The SNAP quality control system measures how accurately state agencies determine a household’s SNAP eligibility and benefit amount.
Quality Control audits follow a production schedule. After completing an intensive training program, staff are required to meet specific milestones and deadlines for these audits, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
