The Serkland Law Firm is seeking a full-time attorney with zero to five years of experience. Interest in the practice areas of general business, commercial and civil litigation preferred. ANNUAL SALARY: Dependent upon experience (“DOE”) BENEFITS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE NEEDED -Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree, Juris Doctor Degree from accredited law school or anticipated date of Juris Doctor degree, if still in law school. -Must be licensed in North Dakota and/or Minnesota or eligible to be licensed in the immediate future. -High ethical standards and a clean disciplinary record. -Willingness to be in the courtroom. -Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. -Excellent time management and organization skills. -Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. -Demonstrable high-quality research and writing skills. -Proven ability or potential to produce sufficient legal work product. -Quick analytical ability and the facility to articulate the critical issues accurately and precisely in cases. -The ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, witnesses, the public, and the courts. -The ability to work effectively with computer programs utilized by the courts, and Serkland Law Firm. JOB DUTIES - Responsible for duties associated with various legal functions such as conducting trials, gathering evidence, and maintaining files. - Drafting legal documents, discovery, pleadings, motions, briefs, and orders. -Appear in court for hearings, pre-trials, bench trials, jury trials, motions, and appeals. - Establish and maintain working relationships with the judiciary, court employees, other attorneys, and other professionals in the community. - Duties may include other assignments as directed by firm attorneys.
