Responsibilities but not limited to: · Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, international ventures, franchise etc.) · Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies · Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance · Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations · Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues · Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.) · Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights · Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization · Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation · Lead legal and compliance matters of publicly-traded retail business, with 50+ stores and a growing franchise, wholesale, and ecommerce business · Serve as a strategic thought partner in leadership team with CEO, Business Development, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to achieve operational and financial goals · Review/negotiate and creates standard form commercial contracts (e.g. commercial lease, merchandise procurement, construction, logistics, franchise) · Manage legal disputes and implement internal procedures to prevent future claims · Manage risks for commercial decisions regarding employment-related issues · Handle all in-house corporate governance documentation and legal-related matters

Skills & Experience Required: · Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in business environment · Much experience in dealing with labor disputes · Outstanding litigation and mediation skills · Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills · Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures · Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation · Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies · High degree of professional ethics and integrity · Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information · California Bar required #Lifeisforfun

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
