Job Description
This position is responsible for providing complex administrative and clerical support to individuals and/or teams conducting extensive investigations of businesses and individuals, often related to high profile civil litigation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review case files and complete assigned tasks such as ordering court records, law enforcement records and online death certificates (public records only).
- Assemble, analyze, scan in to internal database records from courts or agencies relevant to a case; update all case related tasks.
- Obtain documents and create charts for employment/residential/criminal, etc. to be included in reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to obtain social networking profiles as assigned by team.
- Enter and/or review all appropriate information in “Task Matters” in accordance with internal procedures.
- Works with other staff members as required, sharing information and collaborating on projects, assignments or specific tasks.
- Review old case files as needed to determine affiliation or relevance with current project and upload files as appropriate.
- Format and send final reports to counsel and appropriate parties, which may include witness lists.
- Ability to work some evenings, nights and weekends on time sensitive related projects including jury research.
- Assist case manager and team of investigators with special projects as assigned.
- May train new or less experienced employees in procedures in office tasking.
- May prepare index reports.
- May respond to attorney questions and requests.
- May coordinate project team activities and workflow so that projects and tasks are completed accurately and timely.
- May supervise less experienced staff or project team.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required abilities.
- Proficient with MS-Word and Excel; and case management system.
- Experience in reviewing public records, legal documents and files.
- Experience assembling and analyzing records from courts or agencies
- Strong internet and computer application skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information regarding clients and projects.
- Good knowledge of internet search engines.
- Ability to organize various data and information.
- Ability to analyze problems and identify appropriate alternatives.
- Ability to work effectively and interact with all levels of staff and departments throughout the organization.
- Autonomous with ability to work with minimal supervision and timely follow through
- Able to work effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors and customers.
