The Environment Section handles a broad range of significant environmental matters on behalf of the Attorney General and the State of California. Assignments may include:
Section members enforce a broad variety of state and federal environmental laws, such as the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (Superfund), the Hazardous Waste Control Law, Proposition 65 (the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act), the National Environmental Policy Act, the California Environmental Quality Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Unfair Competition Law.
