Job Description

The Manufacturing & Supply Chain Counsel, for our company's Animal Health Intelligence (“MAHI”) reports to the Managing Counsel for MAHI and will have primary responsibility for legal and compliance issues concerning MAHI manufacturing, packaging, and supply chain globally.  This role will work closely with MAHI Compliance, Manufacturing, Procurement, EHS, Product Compliance, and Public Policy.    

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for legal and compliance support of MAHI manufacturing, packaging, and supply chain globally, including:

      • Serving as an active member of the MAHI manufacturing leadership team and assisting with strategic projects for manufacturing and printing sites;

      • Developing an understanding of the product supply chain and bills of materials to support ongoing efforts relating to environmental due diligence, human rights due diligence, and trade compliance;

      • Supporting the business to ensure proper labeling on packaging;

      • Providing legal assistance with procurement and supply chain contracts;

      • Staying abreast of important developments in legislation and regulations globally that may impact our manufacturing business and supply chain;

      • Interfacing with Finance, IT, and other functions as necessary to support systems issues and strategies; and

      • Interfacing with regulatory authorities and industry organizations as needed

  • Generally provide assistance to Managing Counsel of MAHI based on the MAHI organization’s legal needs.

 

Minimum required education:

  • Legal degree from an accredited European, UK, or US law school.

 

Minimum required experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience (preferably in a global environmental or regulatory legal position).

  • Strong experience with supply chain legal issues globally, including procurement and supply chain contracts and due diligence.

  • Business-oriented focus and ability to drive behavioral change and implement new processes and procedures.

  • Excellent judgment and ability to make risk-based decisions quickly and independently.

  • Ability to manage complex issues and projects from start to finish.

  • Collaborative and skilled in working cross-functionally and in teams.

  • Flexibility to work on all types of legal projects within the MAHI organization on a case-by-case basis.

  • Strong influencing and listening skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal issues.

  • Comfort working with senior management and influencing change.

  • Fluent in English.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in high-tech and/or electronic device industries a plus

  • Familiarity with global environmental regulations a plus

  • Experience interfacing with regulatory authorities and industry organizations.
