Job Overview:

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking an energetic food regulatory and advertising attorney with experience in food labeling, dietary supplements, food safety, as well as marketing across all mediums to join its Legal Department. This role will focus primarily on supporting the product development, advertising and marketing teams for great brands such as Keurig, Dr Pepper, Canada Dry, Snapple, Core, Bai, Mott’s and so many more.  The ideal candidate will reflect KDP’s values:  have a team first mentality, think bold, deliver big and always be fearless and fair.

The position requires a knowledge of food laws and regulations, advertising law, as well strong drafting skills and a business mindset. An understanding of FDA, FTC, Lanham Act, and state laws, as well as prior experience negotiating with agencies, content owners and talent is preferred.  A willingness to flex and develop expertise in other legal areas is a plus. This is a challenging, highly visible role that requires collaboration with various functions throughout the company. This role will provide ample opportunities to learn, be challenged, and to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment.

 

What you will do:

  • Review advertising and marketing to ensure compliance with the FDA, FTC, state and e-commerce laws and regulations.
  • Advise R&D on use of ingredients in foods and dietary supplements, including labeling, food safety and GRAS status.  
  • Negotiate agreements with agencies, media companies and talent.
  • Operate independently to manage relationships with many business partners to understand their challenges and help develop solutions to manage a high-pressure, high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate efficiently and effectively across legal and business functions in a manner that adds value, balances risk and protects the company’s reputation.
  • Participate as the legal representative on various cross-functional projects and initiatives, and work collaboratively with key functional groups within KDP.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from accredited institution
  • At least five years of legal experience in advising clients at a law firm, or as part of an in-house corporate legal department
  • Ability to partner, collaborate and influence at all levels within the KDP organization
  • Nimble thinker, collaborative, and comfortable with change
  • Position will be located in the Frisco, TX headquarters with some limited travel
