Position Overview:

As a member of the company’s Legal team, the Corporate Attorney will play a key role in providing legal guidance across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters central to CoreSite’s operations in the data center industry. This position offers a unique opportunity for a smart, dynamic, and business-oriented attorney to contribute meaningfully to a rapidly growing organization. In this role, the Corporate Attorney will support CoreSite’s growth by managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and safeguarding the company’s interests in its dealings with customers, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.

 

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer license and lease agreements, product and service purchase agreements, software and SaaS licensing agreements, and other commercial agreements, and resolve contractual issues as they arise.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations by developing strategies, collaborating with internal stakeholders, reviewing and revising template agreements, and implementing procedures to ensure transactions are legally protected and compliant.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly those governing the data center industry. Provide guidance to the business on compliance requirements and recommended best practices.
  • Provide legal support for real estate transactions, including the acquisition, leasing, and development of properties and existing data centers, to facilitate the company’s rapid expansion.
  • Assist in managing and resolving disputes related to commercial contracts, real estate, and other issues, including coordinating litigation, arbitration, and developing settlement strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, to align legal objectives with business goals.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to support business initiatives and promote CoreSite’s culture and Core Values.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide project updates, explain procedural requirements, and offer legal guidance on issues impacting business relationships. Prepare and deliver executive level written and verbal summaries for material contracts and strategic matters.
  • Stay current on legal developments, industry trends, and best practices in the data center and related industries. Provide internal training and guidance on evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience/Education

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado.
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both.
  • Proven experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the data center, real estate, and/or telecommunications industries.

Compensation:

Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $140,000 and $155,000 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
