Corporate Attorney will need to provide legal advice and guidance to the business, handling complex legal matters by advising on company formation, operations, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and representing the company in legal disputes, ensuring all business transactions are legally sound and protecting the company's interests; they essentially act as a legal counsel for the company navigating the legal landscape to minimize risk and maximize business opportunities, and ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Responsibilities   ·        Provide legal counsel to the CEO and/or Executive team ·        Ensure the company complies with labor laws and regulations ·        Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts ·        Represent the company in legal proceedings, litigation, including pre-trail discovery, settlement negotiations ·        Court appearances ·        Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories ·        Develop and lead corporate legal strategy ·        Maintain legal documents and proceedings ·        Oversee the work of outside counsel specifically General Liability or Workers Compensation claims ·        Identify potential legal risks within the company’s operations and recommending mitigation strategies ·        Real estate negotiation of leases ·        Collaborate with senior management to provide legal counsel on strategic business decisions

Qualifications   ·        Strong legal knowledge, including corporate law, labor law, and litigation ·        Ability to understand complex business operations and financial implications of legal decisions ·        Understanding of how legal issues impact a retail organization ·        Excellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills ·        Superior interpersonal and communication skills ·        Prior experience working as a corporate lawyer ·        LLM or specialization in company law, or corporate law ·        Professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas ·        A law degree or J.D.
