Legal Operations & Contracts Specialist Position - Remote

We are working with a Company that has a need for a Legal Operations & Contracts Specialist to join their team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in building their legal department’s technology and processes and then ensure it is running smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for building/implementing, overseeing and optimizing legal operations tools, such as e-billing systems, contract management software, and other technology platforms that support the legal function.

Compensation is very competitive.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day to day operations of the legal team, including intake of all internal/external requests and workload management; Own the processing of notices of claims and service of legal process
  • Design and maintain optimized legal process, including identifying, developing, and implementing process efficiencies through standardization and automation.
  • Lead legal technology projects, including typical project management activities such as gathering requirements, defining scope and success, driving alignment, developing milestones and timelines, facilitating UAT, and delivering the rollout strategy.
  • Contract Management: Maintain and manage contract lifecycle tools, ensuring contracts are tracked, stored, and easily accessible. Collaborate with legal teams to streamline contract workflows and ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Consults with business and functional colleagues to draft and negotiate a variety of standard and non-standard contracts, and other legal documents related to the procurement of goods and services in accordance with business needs
  • Advise on contracting policy and process standards in response to internal and external inquiries
  • Administrator of all current and future legal technologies and Legal Intake system.
  • Subject Matter Expert providing assistance and training to the legal team, business teams, and outside vendors on the technologies used within the legal team.
  • Monitor legal spend and proactively report to the General Counsel on trends or changes in planned spend. Collaborate with the Finance Department in developing, managing, and forecasting the annual legal budget.
  • Lead Outside Counsel Management Program, including enforcing legal billing guidelines, implementing engagement letters for new matters, evaluating current counsels and identifying areas for improvement and cost management.
  • Manage the entire legal billing process, including day-to-day management of the legal billing system and strategic initiatives to optimize the billing process.
  • Compile and analyze data within legal budget, litigation, contract management, and matter management to produce dashboards, success metrics, analytics, and reports for various audiences.
  • Liaison with various functions across the Company, including Finance, Quality and Warranty, to build established relationships and collaborate on projects and company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Attorney or Paralegal Degree or Legal Studies, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, or a related role
  • Experience with drafting, redlining and negotiating various contracts
  • Experience with technology implementation and administration
  • Experience managing budgets and identifying cost reduction opportunities
  • Experience with claims preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented; ability to review and understand accounting or financial information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs, Teams, and Adobe Pro
