Posted Apr 04 _Our client, a prestigious performing arts center, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their team!
_ Summary Of Role Responsibilities
Provide executive support to the Vice President and General Counsel, as well as the Associate General Counsel, in fulfilling the core responsibilities of the Office of Legal Counsel. Key duties include:
- Assisting in task prioritization and strategy development.
- Managing the contract process, including submission for legal review, obtaining approvals via DocuSign, ensuring compliance with insurance and tax requirements, tracking contract timelines, and integrating contracts into school operations.
- Coordinating with internal teams, external legal counsel, courts, and government agencies for scheduling, follow-ups, and filings.
- Maintaining an organized tracking system for legal matters and managing filing procedures.
- Overseeing office operations by optimizing workflow, addressing inefficiencies, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
- Organizing and prioritizing schedules, meetings, and external commitments, along with handling communication, travel arrangements, and documentation.
- Managing inquiries on behalf of the General Counsel and ensuring appropriate follow-ups on communications.
- Performing additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in a university, government agency, nonprofit, or law office, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound discretion in performing responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience in handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage detailed processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
- Familiarity with managing operations in a small legal department.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new software and electronic technologies.
