As our General Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and guidance to support our business operations and the development of our various departments. • Provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of real estate matters
• Handle pending litigation and represent the company in court or before government agencies
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, leases, and agreements
• Advise the owner and other stakeholders on all legal aspects of the business
• Participate in business operations and contribute to the development of departments
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry regulations and legal standards
• Negotiate settlements and resolve legal disputes efficiently and effectively
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
• Stay abreast of emerging legal trends and developments in the real estate industry
• Provide guidance on risk management and legal strategies for business growth
• Work closely with other departments to address legal issues and support their objectives
• Train and educate employees on legal matters and compliance requirements

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in California
• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in real estate law
• Strong knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and industry practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work independently and make sound legal judgments
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's objectives
• Experience in advising on business operations and departmental development is preferred
