Posted Apr 02 The State Board of Law Examiners is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Attorney to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess requests for test accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Research, analyze, and interpret statutes, cases, and other legal materials to assist in drafting questions for the New York Law Examination.
- Update and maintain the Course Materials for both the New York Law Course and the New York Law Examination.
- Grade essay responses for the bar examination, ensuring accuracy and consistency in evaluations.
- Assist in the training of bar exam graders and analyze grader performance.
- Investigate applicant complaints and security policy violations.
- Prepare and present cases for administrative disciplinary hearings.
- Review applicant credentials and determine eligibility to take the bar examination.
- Assist with the coordination and administration of the bar examination at multiple sites across New York State.
- Perform other legal and administrative duties as required.
Knowledge of substantive and procedural areas of law covered by the Uniform Bar Examination and New York Law Examination, skill in conducting investigations and administrative proceedings, experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act and ability to work both independently and collaboratively is desirable. This is a full-time in-person position, with no remote option.
Qualifications:
Admission to the New York State Bar; and three (3) years of relevant legal experience.
