Federal Employee Litigation Boutique seeks Associate Attorney Melville Johnson, P.C., a small firm located in Atlanta, GA, seeks a licensed Associate Attorney to join its Federal Employment Litigation Team. The Firm offers a congenial and collegial small-firm environment where new attorneys will have the opportunity to have direct client contact and quickly gain hands-on litigation experience mainly in an administrative law setting.   The Associate will receive direct guidance from the senior attorneys in the Firm and can expect an environment where questions are encouraged, and the success of the team is a priority.   The ideal candidate will have employment law or litigation experience in the federal sector, including experience with any or all of the following: the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), the Office of Federal Operations (“OFO”), the Merit Systems Protection Board (“MSPB”), the Office of Special Counsel (“OSC”), and the Office of Personnel Management (“OPM”).   The Firm offers a full range of benefits, including 401K matching, health and dental insurance, 12 paid vacation days per year, plus 7 holidays, and the opportunity for a flexible schedule and/or remote work after completion of a probationary period.   Position Description: The Associate Attorney will be expected to quickly get up to speed regarding the federal employment process with the goal of managing their own case load. The Associate Attorney will:   · Bill 1,560 hours per year; · Have direct client contact; · Manage full-cycle litigation for cases in front of the EEOC, MSPB, OFO, OSC, and OPM; · Draft legal memoranda, complaints, motions, discovery requests, briefs, and other case-related documents; · Take and defend depositions; · Negotiate settlement agreements; · Conduct hearings in person, telephonically, and via video-conference; and · Advise clients regarding their employment matters       Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience representing federal employees in employment claims, federal court litigation experience, or other experience needed in a general federal litigation practice. However, it is not a requirement of the position to have prior federal litigation practice experience. The required qualifications include:   · Bar Admission: An active bar license anywhere in the United States of America; · Excellent written and oral communication skills; · Time management skills, including the ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines; · Outstanding attention to detail; · Problem-solving skills; and · The ability to work both independently and in teams.   Prior to receiving an offer of employment, candidates will be asked to provide a writing sample and two references.

Pay: Starting at $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year commensurate with experience
