Legal.io is working with a top tech company to bring on an experienced Operations Specialist for a 6 month, part-time contract (20 hours/week). This role required someone with a strong background in Outside Counsel Management and rate negotiations. This is a fully remote position.

Project Description We are seeking a Legal Team Operations Specialist for the gaming team. This pivotal role will be responsible for streamlining processes to track implementation of new regulatory and compliance requirements and develop new efficiencies for our global team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of program management experience, process excellence training and/or a paralegal background with a strong emphasis on process organization and driving efficiency.

Looking for a former paralegal or attorney with significant operations experience who has since transitioned into operations, who has concrete legal background and understanding of regulations and what’s required for privacy, safety and accessibility compliance, for example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and streamline regulatory, compliance and other new gaming legal requirements across various gaming business divisions, ensuring timely compliance, consistency and efficiency.
  • Track team KPIs on regulatory implementation, outreach and policy initiatives, including by tracking milestones, deadlines and following up with cross-functional stakeholders, to improve organization, proactivity, project management and cross-functional communication with business partners for greater impact and business outcomes.
  • Act as team point person working with technical experts on development of new tools and technology to help with process improvements.
  • Support and manage special projects and various workstreams for legal department, including by tracking milestones, deadlines and following up with cross-functional stakeholders, to improve organization, proactivity, project management and cross-functional communication with business partners.
  • Leverage gaming legal team’s data to provide insight into legal operations and better inform decision-making.
  • Act as team point person with other groups in the legal department that are focused on regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal reports and presentations for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in program management, as a paralegal, or in a similar role with a focus on organizational skills and process excellence.
  • Strong understanding of legal processes and operations within the gaming industry is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some in-house experience is preferred.
  • Some experience in regulations and compliance is preferred, especially with new major regulations such as GDPR, the Digital Services Act and/or the UK Online Safety Act.
  • Experience with project management tools and PowerBI.
