_ About The Role
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Legal Operations Manager to join our growing legal team. Reporting to our General Counsel, this role will be responsible for driving operational excellence within the legal department, managing key systems and processes, and optimizing how the legal function supports the broader business. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Lead the administration, optimization, and ongoing improvement of the contract lifecycle management process, ensuring consistency, visibility, and efficiency across contract intake, review, execution, and post-signature obligations.
- Contract Management System Administration: Serve as the system owner for the contract management platform, managing user access, workflows, templates, metadata, reporting, and integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, procurement tools).
- Process & Workflow Optimization: Streamline legal processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce friction across the department.
- Technology & Tools Management: Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of legal technology platforms, including CLM, e-billing, matter management, and knowledge management tools.
- Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain internal knowledge bases, templates, and playbooks to support consistent legal guidance and reduce repetitive work.
- Metrics & Reporting: Define and monitor KPIs for legal performance and provide actionable insights through regular reporting to legal leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between legal and other departments (e.g., sales, procurement, finance, IT, compliance) to ensure smooth communication and alignment.
- Project Management: Lead or support legal department projects, including compliance initiatives, audits, and strategic planning efforts.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or contract operations.
- Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management platforms and administration of contract management systems (e.g., ContractSafe, Agiloft, or similar).
- Strong understanding of legal department functions, law firm operations, and legal tech landscape.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD or MBA a plus but not required.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a corporate legal department at a fast-growing company.
- Familiarity with legal process automation and data visualization tools.
- LegalOps certification (e.g., CLOC) or project management credentials (e.g., PMP).
