Posted Mar 11 Full TimeAtlanta, Georgia Consilio is currently seeking two Litigation Legal Assistants to join a leading law firm in Buckhead, a suburban area north of downtown Atlanta. This is a permanent, full-time, benefited position. One LA will support the Product Liability & Class Action Group. The other LA will support the Creditors Rights & Bankruptcy Group.
- Salary : $85,000-$105,000
- Mostly onsite : One remote workday per week after 6 months of training. Remote work is not always guaranteed each week due to the nature of litigation (e.g., trials or case work may require office presence)
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including drafting engagement letters, opening new matters, conducting conflict searches, preparing documents and correspondence, entering time, and managing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
- Collaborate with other Legal Assistants to ensure departmental operations run smoothly.
- Assist with client billing by coordinating pre-bills, making necessary edits, and finalizing invoices for distribution.
- Offer backup support to Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and other team members as needed.
- Format, edit, print, scan, and organize legal documents.
- Respond to inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare and process expense reports.
- Handle electronic court filings in various State and Federal courts.
- Arrange logistics for meetings and conference calls, including reserving conference rooms, coordinating meals, setting up technology, and sending reminders.
- Act as a liaison between attorneys and internal departments.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to fulfill the role's responsibilities.
- Prior law firm experience required, with at least 5 years of recent litigation support preferred.
- Strong background in trial preparation and litigation support.
- Proficiency in coordinating and scheduling depositions, mediations, and client meetings, as well as handling summonses, subpoenas, complaint drafting, and discovery requests.
- Experience using Aderant financial systems is a plus.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign.
- Working knowledge of FileSite/iManage is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage administrative tasks, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a notary public commission in Georgia within three months of employment.
