Responsibilities

Role Summary: (Virtual/Remote Role)

Frontdoor seeks a talented and self‐motivated legal manager to support the Litigation Team. This position will provide broad support to the Legal Team in handling arbitration and litigation matters, disputes, third-party subpoenas and government and regulatory inquiries. This role requires the possession of strong organizational skills, coupled with an in-house legal or law firm background. The ideal candidate will have a business-oriented and collaborative approach to problem-solving and will value working with various business teams in a dynamic and fast-paced corporate environment. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Legal Team and other business partners, playing an integral role in managing pre-litigation, litigation and arbitration matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high quality and timely support to Legal Team members and other business partners on litigation and other legal matters pertaining to the operations and continued growth and expansion of our home warranty business and related businesses.

  • Assisting the Legal Team on a variety of complex litigation and arbitration matters through all phases, including through the management of discovery requests, document and data collection, document review and productions, preparing for and attending hearings, and related projects.

  • Maintaining case files and records, and monitoring case calendars and dockets with attention to detail and limited supervision.

  • Conducting investigations and analyzing relevant information to prepare case analyses and arguments.

  • Working with the Finance Team to prepare reports and process litigation payments, as needed.

  • Assisting with the Company’s response to government and regulatory inquiries and proceedings, including the development of strategies to mitigate risk and defend against claims.

  • Willingness to support as needed a range of legal projects and matters beyond litigation focus areas, including commercial and consumer litigation, contracts, marketing, regulatory, corporate governance and legal operations in support of the Company’s strategic priorities and legal objectives.

  • Contributing to the Legal Team by working collaboratively with team members, timely meeting deadlines and actively supporting team priorities.

  • Willingness to handle other projects and matters as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s undergraduate degree;

  • Paralegal certificate a plus;

  • 5+ years relevant experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department as a litigation-focused paralegal;

  • Experience with disputes pending before arbitration forums and small claims courts a plus;

  • Strong organizational and project management skills;

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision from Frontdoor attorneys;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems;

  • Strong decision making, research and analytical skills to determine best course of action;

  • Must be tech-savvy and possess a strong willingness to learn;

  • Creative problem solver with customer focus and “can do” attitude;

  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines within a changing, fast‐paced environment;

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Good sense of humor.

Location:

  • Remote, but with limited travel to business locations as required.

Other/State Specific

Compensation:

This role pays between $80,000 and $100,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
