Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
PPFA and PPAF seek a Managing Director for the Office of General Counsel (OGC) division, which provides legal advice and related services to both entities in areas including governance and board affairs, legal compliance, risk management, litigation, and all aspects of business law. This position is part of OGC’s leadership team and reports to the General Counsel.
Purpose:
The Managing Director takes a leading role in all aspects of OGC’s operations. This includes addressing special projects and challenges as they arise, as well as maintaining ongoing operational processes. This individual will serve as a strategic thought partner to the OGC leadership team and is expected to be a leader, connector and partner to staff in the division as well as to staff in other divisions. This position requires the ability to work well with colleagues to develop, coordinate, and execute plans that support continuous operations improvement, as well as effective communication with the broader organization. The ideal candidate can balance between strategic and tactical thinking, and can work with operations leaders to guide informed decision making and priority setting based on relevant data and information.

PPFA will consider candidates with a wide range of professional backgrounds and educational qualifications, but the successful candidate will have at least seven years of progressively responsible work experience and will be able to demonstrate prior success in all the following areas:
In addition, it will be beneficial if a candidate is familiar with the operations of law offices, particularly the operations of an in-house legal department at a large and complex organization.
Travel: This position may involve occasional domestic travel, mainly to ensure the individual is familiar with operations at OGC’s offices in both New York City and Washington, D.C.
$185,000 - $200,000 a year
