We’re looking for a talented commercial transactions attorney to join our Commercial Legal team! As a member of this team, you will draft and negotiate a variety of agreements with Atlassian’s enterprise customers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and support strategic transactions for Atlassian.
This position is preferably based in the Austin area, however, in line with our TEAM Anywhere policy, we are open to hiring the right candidate anywhere in the United States.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Become a member of our growing team of individuals in our Legal team supporting Atlassian’s commercial team.
- Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues. We’re not looking for academic analysis!
- Partner with our Sales team, as well as our Privacy, Trust, Finance, and Product teams, to drive customer deals to execution and design scalable processes for implementation.
- Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian’s products and services.
- Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate our sales teams on contract terms and other legal issues.
- Assist with special projects as needed, including projects focused on improving legal processes.

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
- Qualification to practice law in your local jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of experience handing contract negotiations. Experience negotiating outbound SaaS contracts is a must.
- Ability to handle data protection topics and revenue recognition issues in connection with commercial contracts.
- Passion for understanding our customers, products, culture, and business model.
- Excellent judgment and strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to handle new areas of responsibility.
