The position requires the individual to (1) perform complex paralegal assignments supporting the attorneys in the Office of General Counsel (OGC), primarily those in the Corporate Group and (2) help drive important OGC projects relating to internal process improvement, administration, and knowledge management.
Work You'll Do:
Analyzing, revising, and negotiating confidentiality agreements (including in the context of M&A transactions), and various other agreements.
Advising practitioners and risk managers of the Deloitte US Firms on contract-related issues.
Negotiating various agreements with clients, vendors, and other parties.
Assisting with important internal projects relating to internal process improvement and knowledge management.
Drafting documents and correspondence.
Performing other functions such as contract summarizing, proofreading, redlining, and organizing and maintaining reference materials and databases.
Performing legal research.
Familiarity with professional service agreements is a plus.
Required:
Individual should have a bachelor's degree.
5+ years of paralegal or similar experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Travel up to 20% (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
Preferred:
Paralegal certificate preferred.
Individual should be able to operate at a high level with minimum supervision, make decisions in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and guidelines of the Deloitte US Firms, and must be able to discern when attorney or supervisor involvement is necessary.
Individual should have excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and project management skills in a legal department or similar environment.
Individual must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, prioritize matters and meet deadlines
