Andra Purkalitis Joins Virtus Investment Partners as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

Virtus Investment Partners recently announced the appointment of Andra Purkalitis as the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, & Corporate Secretary. With over 30 years of extensive legal and regulatory experience in the asset management industry, Purkalitis brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. She will oversee the strategic direction of the legal, regulatory, and compliance functions while advising the company's Board of Directors on corporate governance matters.

Purkalitis is a highly respected advisor and strategic partner, known for her expertise in advising senior leaders and corporate directors. Her profound understanding of the complexities within the domestic and global asset management industry positions her as a guiding force. Virtus Investment Partners aims to leverage her experience to strengthen the capabilities of its affiliated managers and execute its long-term growth strategy.

George R. Aylward, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Virtus Investment Partners, expressed his enthusiasm about Purkalitis joining their management team. He highlighted her extensive comprehension of the asset management sector and emphasized the instrumental role her experience will play in achieving the company's strategic objectives.

Before joining Virtus Investment Partners, Purkalitis held pivotal positions in reputable organizations within the asset management industry. Her most recent tenure as the Global Chief Compliance Officer and Regulatory Counsel at Affinius Capital, a private equity real estate management company, exemplifies her commitment to regulatory excellence. Preceding her time at Affinius, she served in a similar capacity at Russell Investments.

Purkalitis boasts a distinguished track record within esteemed companies. She assumed roles such as Regional Chief Executive Officer & Chief Legal Officer at Aviva Investors Americas and Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel at Old Mutual Capital, a division of Old Mutual Asset Management (now BrightSphere Investment Group).

Her expertise extends beyond the private sector; Purkalitis served as Branch Chief & Enforcement Attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Denver. Additionally, her contributions as a prosecution expert witness in complex criminal securities fraud cases for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Utah and Nevada highlight her commitment to upholding regulatory standards.

Purkalitis holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where she also served as an adjunct professor teaching courses in securities regulation and international business transactions. Her undergraduate studies earned her a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska.

With Andra Purkalitis assuming the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, Virtus Investment Partners reinforces its commitment to a robust leadership team.
