Catherine Lacavera, Ex-Google VP, Joins ShipBob as the Company's Inaugural Chief Legal Officer

In a significant move that marks yet another milestone in ShipBob's journey, the global omni-fulfillment platform has welcomed Catherine Lacavera as its first Chief Legal Officer. Catherine Lacavera, a distinguished legal expert, comes to ShipBob with over two decades of experience in legal and compliance leadership. Her impressive career spans from her pivotal role at Google to her most recent position as the Chief Legal Officer at Color Health.

Lacavera holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering and earned a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration (J.D./M.B.A.) degree from the University of Toronto. She was also honored with a Doctor of Law degree by the University of Toronto, recognized as one of Fortune's distinguished individuals in their Top 40 under 40 list, acknowledged as a highly influential figure in the realm of intellectual property, and inducted into the prestigious Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Catherine Lacavera's career journey is a testament to her legal prowess and her capacity to lead and build successful legal teams. At Google, where she spent over 16 years, Lacavera managed global litigation, employment, and regulatory investigations, overseeing a team of more than 300 attorneys and technical advisors. Her contributions at Google include winning over 1,000 patent and intellectual property cases, including several multi-billion-dollar industry-defining cases. Moreover, she advised on complex acquisitions and licenses, such as the acquisitions of Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion and Nest for $3.2 billion.

After leaving Google, Catherine Lacavera took on the role of Chief Legal Officer at Color Health, where she played a pivotal role in building and leading a legal and compliance team. Her leadership extended to overseeing the restructuring of the company, aligning it to support new business ventures and clinical expansion.

In a statement regarding her new role at ShipBob, Catherine Lacavera conveyed her immediate attraction to the ShipBob team and the impressive growth trajectory of the company. She also lauded ShipBob's innovative approach to global solutions and operations, aimed at aiding an expanding market of businesses. As Chief Legal Officer, Lacavera will play a central role in leading and scaling ShipBob's legal function. Her role includes providing strategic legal advice and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across all aspects of ShipBob's operations.
