Job Description
With Fannie Mae’s 10-week (May 2025 - July 2025) paid internship program you will be empowered to drive change, lead with creativity, own your career, and make a difference. The Fannie Mae Legal department has summer law clerk openings for current 1st year/rising 2nd year law students (JD candidates).
Law clerks will also have an opportunity to spend a few weeks working at a law firm that provides legal services to Fannie Mae. Law clerks will have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments that reflect the breadth of legal issues the department handles.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
As a Legal Program Intern, typical assignments you could be tasked with include researching legal issues that arise in pending litigation, reviewing, and revising contracts, assisting with the preparation of SEC disclosures, research and analysis of issues underlying real estate secured financing, and analysis of state and federal regulatory issues.
Law clerks are invited to attend court hearings and depositions that take place during the clerkship period, and to participate in meetings with Fannie Mae’s business units.
