Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to support our company and its continued growth in the fashion industry! Reporting to our Legal Services Manager and supervised by the Sr. Director, Intellectual Property Counsel, our Legal Intern will identify and provide creative solutions to legal risks impacting the Brand and will collaborate with cross-functional partners and team members to provide creative solutions to mitigate risk. This role combines the need for a confident and energetic individual with a strong interest in fashion law and an exceptional desire to learn about various fields of law with a fast-paced in-house perspective, including intellectual property, contracts, brand protection, and advertising.
Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities:
Provide basic legal research in response to incoming requests for legal advice/business guidance from cross-functional partners and exercising judgement in prioritizing requests.
Support management of the copyright portfolio by working with cross-functional partners in securing new product line lists, procuring photos and all other information needed for filing, finalizing product list before product launch, assisting with registration of Copyrights and owning the organization and filing process of same.
Provide support for brand protection projects such as drafting cease and desist letters or supporting IP infringement takedowns. Support other intellectual property, contract and advertising matters, product campaigns, photoshoots and beyond.
Create legal education materials for cross-functional partners.
Assist with miscellaneous projects for the department as requested such as business licenses, insurance or risk management, sustainability, regulatory review, employment, privacy, or any other legal matters.
Intern Projects:
The Legal Intern will align with the Legal Services Manager and the Sr. Director, Intellectual Property Counsel on one to three main projects to focus on for the duration of their internship. These projects are intended to give the intern hands-on experience while educating them on business and legal matters.

Working knowledge of Westlaw, Lexis and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheets and the track changes and document compare functions in Microsoft Word.

Exceptional organizational and presentation skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
