Description
This is a full-time role within the Office of the General Counsel, Law Division, which will be located in Addison, TX, with a hybrid option allowing the successful candidate to work from home two days per week. As a leading insurance and financial services company focused on meeting the evolving needs of K-12 teachers and employees of other non-profit organizations, we are looking for a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel.
The Vice President, Assistant General Counsel will report to the Executive Vice President & General Counsel and will manage responsibilities of the Law Division as assigned. The Vice President, Assistant General Counsel will also provide support to executive and senior leadership located across the country. Candidates should be currently licensed to practice law in Texas or Illinois (or have the ability to become licensed in either jurisdiction within six months of hire) and have at least 15 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with meaningful experience in the insurance and financial services industry.
We have a strong preference for attorneys with experience in supplemental insurance products (such as cancer, hospital, and heart) and group products (such as short term and long term disability), as well as those with experience in government contracting, transactional and corporate governance work, and working with third-party administrators. Ideal candidates will also have a combination of law firm and in-house experience, with both solid legal acumen and the desire to foster and build strong business relationships with the Company’s business leaders.
